Friday morning, I'm getting ready for yet another Friday - you know - grocery shopping, cleaning, errands, violin rehearsal, hosting, and cooking - the usual.
In three different places, 3 families' world is shattered - I cannot fathom what is going on there. I can't imagine, nor do I want to. Soon Shabbat will dawn on us. I assume their congregations are landing a hand to help with all the arrangements for Shabbat and the worried mothers are trying to occupy themselves with the little things, turning to auto-drive just not to think and reduce the terrible thoughts going through their minds. It's terrible, but in today's Israel this is the only thing that counts, only those three boys.
The IDF closed the whole of the West Bank. All entrance permissions canceled - none was left behind. This is a death sentence for entire families. What is their crime? Being Palestinians, but of course. The IDF is on a rampage. No one should say a word, no one should doubt. In the general public opinion here in Israel, you can't say a word against it, since only the three boys count. Anyone trying to say other wise is considered a traitor. no less.
Two people were shot, head-shot in Qalandia - here are 2 more families that had their world just shattered.
Mohamad Dudin, 13 years old, shot in the chest and killed - another shattered family.
Many were wounded during the air strike on Gaza, among them are 4 kids, a 10 day old baby, a 7 year old boy - killed - more shattered families.
The IDF is confident that the three kidnapped boys are in the Hebron area, but 70 people were arrested in Nablus, 21 of them tonight. Some are over 60, shabab (youngsters) of course - need I count more?
The IDF is destroying everything, no stone unturned, a hardware store magically turned to a terror workshop though no evidence found, but the truth is that it just ruined the livelihood of an entire innocent family. From the looks of it, we are way past the phase of search and in the phase of destroying the vital infrastructure of the Palestinians. The whole world realized that by now, and only in Israel we are still backing up the government that has lost it's way.
Unfortunately I can go on and on, evidence is piling up, only no one wants to hear.
Even the military commentators admit that the kidnapping is used as an excuse to realize the IDF's back-up plans.
The government just approved another transaction of millions for the settlements - there is always enough budget for such purposes.
Abu-Mazen, at the Arab-League, spoke bravely against the kidnapping, in Arabic no less, calling the kidnappers to release the boys, calling for an unarmed resistance. And what is Netanyahu's response? Let him prove in actions, not words. Is there anyone who is asking what are the Israeli actions proving? Who is the real partner? Well the answer is clear and it's not Israel.
Meanwhile, Rabbis in Israel say the kidnapping is due to anti-religious legislation - are we out of our minds?
Israel 2014 is led (oops, I meant derailed) by Benjamin Netanyahu. We should flood the streets and say Enough, but instead we are blaming the Palestinians and collectively punishing them all. I know it's not popular, but what we are doing now is far worse. Only the public in Israel is so shifted we just don't care anymore. When will we wake up? Will we stop when Israeli soldiers get killed in this irresponsible operation? MK Ayelet Shaked asked the Israeli government to open the gates of hell and here we are standing at the gate. Happy now?
